Recovery from Pornography Addiction

This website is made by a simple man for a simple purpose. I am a recovering addict to pornography and it is my hope that this website will be of help to somebody, somewhere who has been lost and is trying to find their way home. What I hope to offer is hope in recovery from pornography addiction.

I am an LDS Christian or Mormon. Some of what I will say will appeal to that end. But I believe that my experience can be of benefit to all. Sad experience has given me the understanding that pornography addiction is no respecter of persons, denomonations or religions.

I chose the name of this website for the obvious invocation of a beloved parable taught by Christ himself.

There are many parts of that parable that an addict can relate to. Whether in reality or in virtual fantasy, addicts of pornography waste their lives in “riotous living”. They feel ashamed for having such a despicable problem. They feel overwhelming shame knowing that they came from a “honorable” often “well-respected” family. They fear that they will be rejected if they came forward for help, after all, wasn’t it  “their choice” to become involved with such things?

There comes a time in every Prodigal Addict’s journey where the individual has had enough, they have hit point where they “come to themselves” and say, “I need help. I can’t do this on my own. I can’t do this anymore.” This moment could be one in which YOU decide to reach out for help. Perhaps you were caught by your spouse and are now being prodded in this direction. Either way, it is an opportunity to finally get the help that you have desperately needed.

This is the beginning of your trek home. From my own experience, I can tell you that it is a long, difficult journey. I still have so much to learn and so far to go in my own recovery. But I have travelled a long way and I have learned a great deal. I know who I am and I know where I am headed. I am the Prodigal Son and I am headed home.

Please take the time to view some of the other tabs. I hope the information and resources will be helpful to you. All of them that I will include are links or information that have benefited me personally and I feel obliged to share them with my fellow Prodigal Addicts.

You are not alone. You are not a bad person. You can find peace. You can find recovery from pornography addiction. You can find your way home.
